Prince Harry Skipped Friend’s Wedding Despite Returning to the UK – Details
The 40-year-old royal’s recent U.K. visit raised questions after he missed a longtime friend’s important milestone. A source revealed the reason behind his absence.
Prince Harry’s recent return to the U.K. sparked speculation after he skipped the second wedding of his longtime friend, Charles, Lord Vivian, despite being in London at the time. On April 5, Charles, 58, married Saweda Kamara at Chelsea Old Town Hall.
According to The Daily Mail, the Duke of Sussex had previously stood with Charles and other close friends in the “band of brothers” photo at Windsor Castle on his own wedding night.

Vivian said he had invited Harry to his second wedding but added, “I don’t know. He has a lot on.” The reception took place at The Nomad Hotel, with guests including former Welsh Guards officer Mark Dyer — often referred to as Harry’s “second father.”
Mark played a key role in introducing Harry to Charles, who works in public relations and reportedly helped him organize several charity trips to Africa. Harry’s absence stood out, as he had been an usher at Charles’s first wedding to Elizabeth Wimpress and previously missed the 2023 wedding of another close friend, Jack Mann.
A source revealed to People that Harry did not attend due to lack of official security during his trip, making it “very challenging” to move around or attend events. The Duke was in London to appeal a High Court ruling on his security status.
Vivian had attended Harry’s 2018 wedding and featured in the Netflix series “Harry & Meghan” alongside the Duke.
