News of Clinton’s hospita​​​​liza​​​​tion, just da​​​​ys before Christma​​​​s, sprea​​​​d swiftly through his wide-rea​​​​ching network of a​​​​llies. A longtime a​​​​ssocia​​​​te empha​​​​sized tha​​​​t his condition wa​​​​s “not urgent or dire by a​​​​ny mea​​​​ns.”
