Michael Strahan and his twin daughters recently sat down for an interview to discuss one of his children’s medical diagnoses from a year ago. Isabella, his daughter, completed her treatment a few months ago and has since returned to school and a normal life.
On January 22, 2025, former National Football League (NFL) star Michael Strahan appeared in a joint interview with his twin daughters, Isabella and Sophia Strahan. During the interview, Isabella shared her experience with a brain tumor diagnosis.
While the “Good Morning America” co-host’s daughter discussed her journey and recovery, some netizens focused on her appearance. One person commented, “The short hair “pixie-look” is beautiful on Isabella. [sic]”
Echoing a similar sentiment, another person wrote, “your hair is gorgeous Isabella It compliments your face. [sic]” An individual noted, “That short haircut is you. Beautiful, u look like a model! Many blessing and continued healing to you. [sic]”
Commenting on both sisters, someone remarked, “Isabella is absolutely gorgeous…so is her sister! They are beautiful inside and out too.” Another added, “They are such beautiful young women. Isabella’s haircut…wow. So becoming. I’m so proud of her for sharing her story and educating. The whole family is amazing. So much love there.”
After seeing the trio on the cover of the latest People magazine, one Instagram user said, “Isabella looks STUNNING ❤️❤️❤️❤️,” while another wrote, “Isabella I love the come back look! You look fabulous daring!!!!❤️ [sic]”
Admiring both sisters, a commenter shared, “His daughters are beautiful, Isabella looks amazing, so happy this young lady pulled through. Many blessings for the future. ❤️.”
During the interview, Isabella recalled the moment she received her diagnosis, saying, “We did an MRI, and [the doctor] said, ‘Go straight to the emergency room.’ I didn’t know what was wrong, but everyone else did.”
She was diagnosed with medulloblastoma, a fast-growing tumor in her cerebellum, and had to undergo emergency surgery. The “Good Morning America” co-host’s daughter also underwent chemotherapy and radiation.
Sophia admitted that it was difficult returning to school knowing her sister was at home undergoing treatment, while her roommates and friends continued going out and having fun. As a freshman with her own social life, she couldn’t imagine being in Isabella’s shoes, watching life go on without her.
Sophia recalled how her twin expressed feeling abnormal, and how she tried to help by making her feel included. She supported her sister by chatting about friends and the latest school drama.
As a father, Michael found it emotionally challenging to watch his daughter battle her illness. He said, “To see her struggle with the chemo, and be like ‘I don’t think I can do this anymore’ … as a parent, you’re like ‘You gotta go through it.'”
The host of “$100,000 Pyramid” also shared, “You’re so used to, as a parent, fixing things, taking care of things, especially something that hurts your child, and here you can’t do anything, you’re at the mercy of doctors and medicine.”
The family interview serves as a lead-up to the release of their upcoming documentary, “Life Interrupted: Isabella Strahan’s Fight to Beat Cancer,” which will air on February 5 at 10 p.m. ET on ABC. It will also be available on Disney+ and Hulu the following day.
In May 2024, Isabella shared updates about her chemotherapy experience on her YouTube channel. While lying on a couch, she told her fans she was “doing good,” feeling better, was back home, had slept for eighteen hours, and was looking forward to Sophia’s return that week.

She admitted feeling bored but wasn’t experiencing much pain. Isabella revealed that she had one more round of chemotherapy left, which made her feel both nervous and excited. She looked forward to June but worried about what life would be like after her treatments.
Michael’s daughter said, “I’m kind of scared, like once I’m done, how am I gonna go back to normal life? Cause I feel like there’s always going to be another treatment or something I have to do, I don’t know… but that’s a later problem, and otherwise I’m doing good.”
Isabella, a Sephora model, shared that memory loss was one of the side effects of chemotherapy. In June, she updated her fans about her final chemotherapy session, revealing that the last round wasn’t too difficult and she slept a lot.
After completing her treatment, she was given fluids, and all that was left was recovery and a return to normal life. At the hospital, she participated in a confetti parade celebration with her father, sister, close family members, and the hospital staff.
The celebration continued with Isabella ringing the hospital’s bell to mark the completion of her chemotherapy. Michael celebrated his daughter’s milestone by sharing a video of the bell-ringing moment, writing, “@isabellastrahan you are a SUPERWOMAN! Ringing that bell finishing chemo and on your way! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾”
Isabella is now back at the University of Southern California (USC), where she is majoring in communications. She will have scans every three months for the next two to three years, which will later reduce to every six months or a year.
Discussing his daughter’s future, Michael said, “Her doctors feel very confident, she’s going to be fine.” He admitted that while they remain hopeful, he is still nervous, and that feeling will likely never go away.
Isabella reflected, “Obviously you can’t predict what will happen, and that’s a little scary. But I don’t think you can solely live in fear. I think I should live every day. Take every opportunity. I see the impact that can come from sharing my experience. I want to be a voice.”
Her sister believes that Isabella has settled back into her old life and has handled everything “incredibly well, and I can’t imagine how it felt.”
As Isabella continues her journey of healing and adjustment, she remains focused on embracing life’s opportunities while raising awareness about her experience. Her story serves as a source of inspiration for others facing similar challenges, highlighting the importance of resilience, support, and hope in overcoming adversity.
